Critter Craze Ranch is a family affair and we started in the Pygmy Goat business when our very young daughter, Carrie, decided she was going to have a goat, when she first saw one her Mom had borrowed for a petting zoo at our local community fair.  Both Carrie and her brother Jack were in 4-H and had projects raising Hampshire Sheep, Rosecomb and Jersey Giant Chickens, Pygmy Goats, Dairy Replacement Heifers, Horses and Carrie showed Pigs and Beef in FFA.  Jack just recently graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a Master's Degree in Education and Carrie has just finished her freshman year at Cal Poly, as a Dairy Science Major.  Both of them are still active in 4-H as volunteers, as is their Mom who has been a 4-H leader for over 20 years.  Pygmy Goats are our passion, but Critter Craze Ranch is also home to Miniature Donkeys,  Alpacas, Horses, Sheep, Anatolian Shepherd Dogs, two spoiled Cats, Chickens and Exotic Birds.  We supply animals for our Monte Vista 4-H Club petting zoos, which the club members provide for our local communities as a community service project.

Our goatherd is not large and we strive to raise quality goats that meet the needs of our customers. We have sold many goats to 4-H and FFA members as show animals or foundation animals for their herd.  It has been wonderful to watch these young people show their wethers or does and bucks, and in recent years, show the offspring they have raised that carry our bloodlines.  We have spent several years establishing our line with the goal of consistently producing pygmy goats with correct type and personality.  We have been fortunate to often win or place in the show ring and have found that showing pygmy goats can be a very rewarding experience for young and old.  We enjoy the friendships we have developed with other pygmy goat breeders and strive to help newcomers to the hobby.

Critter Craze Ranch welcomes visitors, by appointment, to see all our animals, but especially our Pygmy Goats.  We believe our visitors will be impressed with the quality or our herd and it is just always fun to "talk goats" with new and old friends.  Look for news and frequent updates to our web site.
